Swami Mangalananda Giri

Swami Mangalananda, born as Brigitte Essinger, comes from Germany. In 1992 she was initiated by Peter van Breukelen, and met Paramahamsa Hariharananda a short time later. From 1994 she regularly travelled through Europe with Gurudev, and remained in his company for longer periods in Vienna, where she completed her study Medicine and simultaneously  took care of her master Hariharananda.

In September 2000 she became the first female to be ordained in Swami lineage of Paramahamsa Hariharananda and received the name Mangalananda what means bliss of auspiciousness. Her home base is the Tattendorf ashram, from where she guides many programs with people coming from all over the world.
